After getting the colour iteration down and choosing what colour I wanted, I jump straight into making the overall look of the stage. This will be used as a reference when I make the detailed zoomed-in of the room.
Process
I use the carousal circus I made in the block out to trace over with thin lines so I can clean up the shapes.
I use the block out itself and turn it in monotone colour, painted over with the shadow in the colour I desire; I use purple because it will show up on the blues and red rather well and give off a cold ominous feel to the stage.
After getting the base shadow from the model and cleaning it up, I put in all the base colour of the level by using multiply mode. Allowing the shadow to show through the base colour.
I use photobashing technique learned from last term to add the top of the carousel, making my work faster to work with and telling its basic idea without having to draw it out.
The circus have a colourful colour iwth off colour to make it no too bright and capture the mid-tone between cute playful and sinister vibe of the boss.
